About Sixth Night

“He is not shaping those features with the chisel. He is simply revealing the eyebrows and nose already hidden within the wood—like unearthing a stone from the earth, guided by certainty.”

Origin of Our Brand Name—SIXTH NIGHT

Our brand name is inspired by “The Sixth Night,” one of the stories in Ten Nights of Dreams by the literary master Sƍseki Natsume.

In this tale, Unkei—the legendary sculptor of the late Heian and early Kamakura periods—appears in the Meiji era, effortlessly carving Niƍ guardian statues from wood, not creating but revealing what has always been there.
Unkei is portrayed as a symbol of ancient culture and technique.

We embrace this philosophy: to reveal the inherent beauty that lies dormant in the world.
We work with time-honored Japanese metalworking techniques passed down through generations, and gemstones shaped over tens of millions of years by the forces of nature.

This union of tradition and time gives rise to jewelry of enduring beauty—pieces that transcend generations and speak quietly to the essence of elegance.

Design

Our approach to design is rooted in a sense of playfulness. Inspired by creatures, flora, and the many facets of culture, each piece evokes a vivid world in miniature.

We pursue a delicate balance between form and technique—revealing the innate beauty of every material. This unwavering dedication gives rise to jewelry that transcends time.

Artisanal Passion

One of SIXTH NIGHT’s signature techniques is Wabori—traditional Japanese engraving. We honor this heritage craft and the artisans who sustain it, aspiring to help carry the culture forward into the future.

We strive to create beauty through the harmony between traditional metalworking and contemporary jewelry design.

Jewel

Our strength lies in the discerning eye of a designer with an exceptional sense of color. Each gemstone—whether diamond or colored stone—is carefully selected, often through direct relationships with trusted local suppliers.

These are one-of-a-kind treasures, rarely found elsewhere. Every stone reflects the aesthetic soul of SIXTH NIGHT.
